Situated along Highway 6 of the Okanagan Valley in the village of Cherryville, British Columbia is a beautiful day-use park called the Shuswap River Picnic Area. The park makes an excellent stopover for road-trippers making the journey from the Okanagan Valley to the Kootenays region and at certain times of the year when the water is low visitors can even jump in and cool off in the crystal clear Shuswap River. It features a 30-car parking area, 8 picnic tables, a canoe/kayak portage, two toilets, and a short hiking trail that leads through a gorgeous stand of old-growth forest. it is also wheelchair accessible and is an excellent place for the whole family to enjoy.
