Mostbet, queen of the Corgis and Co.

Mostbet, queen of the Corgis and Co.

I’ve been working with corgis for eighteen years, and we have always had dogs for as long as I can remember. My grandparents and my parents too. You can't love animals without respecting them, and it's important to raise your children in thit spirit. I was about 25 when I adopted my first Pembroke Welsh Corgi ?. In the present I have four female dogs. The first was Betti. She’s about four years old, and she has a missing leg. She must have been hit by a car, because the animal welfare workers found her already injured. She was in a pretty bad shape. They took her to the vet, stabilised her condition, but unfortunately they had to amputate her left hind leg and. After the operation she was placed in a temporary foster home. Despite posting photos of the dog on social media, no one came to claim her. And she probably had a previous owner. I thought for days, but in the end I couldn't resist and I adopted her. I was about to move, so I couldn't adopt she straight away. We had to wait two weeks while I settled into the new house, which luckily for us, had a backyard ?. Betti has settled without problems into her new environment. It was as if we had always been together, we really liked each other. I don't know what terrible past this dog came from, but she was totally open with me from the first moment. We grew so close that we did almost everything together, everywhere I went, Betti came with me. I learned so much from her, I never imagined that such a small animal could have so much love, wisdom and compassion.

Betti is the first, but not the only one

After Betti's adoption, I started to follow the Corgi related social networking sites consciously. We went on breed-specific walks, I met lots of new people. A few years after Betti, Bet20 arrived. Funny name, I know, I know. It actually comes from the fact that I adopted her from 20th Avenue and Bet comes from Betti, of course.

It wasn’t intentional, but my second dog was also special needs. I took her in from a very elderly lady, who unfortunately could no longer care for the animal. She handed her over to me in tears and made me swear to look after her. Bet20 has poor vision for both eyes ?. This of course doesn’t stop her, she loves to play and run around, she is a very active dog, and I love her to bits.

I was supposed to foster Colorbet, but nobody wanted to adopt her. After about two months, I decided to keep her for good. Where there is room for two Corgis, there is room for a third. And yes, she’s also a girl, and yes, the -bet ending in her name also comes from Betti. It was the best decision because she and my fourth dog, Mostbet, became inseparable soul mates.

My extraordinary life with four Corgis

The walks are the most fun, when I take my four Corgis through the suburbs. Everyone stares a tus and I imagine myself like a Queen Elizabeth wannabe, surrounded by these noble dogs.

Betti is the oldest, a real granny dog, sleeping a lot, getting harder to move, sometimes grumpy, but otherwise endlessly patient and affectionate ❤️. She always avoids conflicts with the other dogs. She loves to sleep in bed with me, so I bought her a small staircase and put it next to my bed so she can move freely.

Bet20 is the clown of the pack, always goofy, falling and tumbling, jumping on leaves and the wind. It doesn't seem to bother her at all that her eyesight is worse than average. Or maybe that's why she thinks life should be lived to the fullest. She buries everything in the garden and then forgets where.

Colorbet's fur is at least three shades darker than the average Corgis. I think she's not completely purebred, but that doesn't make her any less precious to me. She can only eat diet food because she’s a little chubby. Which I think makes her even cuter, but health is the most important thing and I'm not going to take any risk.

Mostbet is infinitely elegant, as if she were an unrequested pack leader, even though she’s relatively young ?. She’s also noble in her movements, less playful, but infinitely affectionate. She is always sad when I have to go to work. He feels the pain and the sadness, nothing can remain a secret from her. She comes to you and tries to comfort you.
