Traveling Makes Us Fabulous
Travel makes us all more awesome. Traveling makes us better off than we were when we first started. We develop, we learn, and we get perspective. It's a very effective personal growth tool.
What is the reason why travel can help you be more fabulous? Here are a few ways:
1. Traveling Makes You More Sociable
When you travel, you mostly do things on your own accord. You either become better at making new friends or are left alone, crying every night on a hostel sleeping pillow. It is important to learn how to befriend strangers and become more comfortable with them. When I first began traveling, I was shy and uneasy talking with people I didn't even have a connection with. Today, I'm happy to engage with strangers like we've been best buddies for many years. This is because, after a few minutes, you're craving to chat with people, so you go toward the person in front of you at the bar in the hostel to say "hi." Then you realize that it's not as terrifying, and you continue to do it until you're a pro.
2. Traveling Improves Your Conversation
Travel not just lets you feel comfortable speaking with strangers, it helps you improve your skills as well. After talking to strangers every day, you start to become monotonous. After some time, you no longer think about where people are from, where they're traveling, what time they've been traveling for, and on and on. These types of questions won't really reveal much regarding the individual. Sure, you'll improve in conversation; however, more important, you'll learn how to ask questions that are interesting - important questions that can spark conversations.
