Manaslu Circuit Trek: 14 Days Itinerary and Guide
Trip Overview
The Manaslu Circuit Trek is a stunning, off-the-beaten-path journey in Nepal, offering trekkers a captivating alternative to popular routes like Everest, Annapurna, and Langtang. This 14-day trek promises a unique experience, blending breathtaking landscapes with the rich cultural heritage of the remote Manaslu region. Unlike other trekking areas in Nepal, solo travelers are not allowed on the Manaslu Circuit. Groups must have at least two people and be accompanied by a Nepal Government-authorized trekking guide. Additionally, trekkers must obtain a Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP) and an Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP) to complete the route.
Off-the-Beaten-Path Restricted Trekking Trail in Nepal
The Manaslu Circuit is one of Nepal’s most beautiful and secluded trekking routes, encompassing the captivating Tsum Valley and the challenging Larkya La Pass (5,106 m). Along this trail, trekkers are treated to mesmerizing mountain views and the chance to explore hidden villages rich in unique Himalayan culture. Since the Manaslu region is a restricted area, you will need the following permits:
Manaslu Restricted Area Permit (RAP): Issued by the Nepal government, this permit allows access to the Manaslu Conservation Area.
Annapurna Conservation Area Permit (ACAP): Required as the Manaslu Circuit trek intersects with the Annapurna region.
Thrilling Larkya La Pass (5,106 m)
One of the trek’s main highlights, Larkya La Pass is one of the most thrilling high-altitude passes in the Himalayas. From the top, trekkers can enjoy stunning views of Manaslu, Manaslu North, Samdo Peak, Naike Peak, Larke Peak, and Cheo Himal. At 5,106 meters, Larkya La Pass marks the highest elevation on the trek. During winter, crossing the pass can be challenging due to heavy snowfall, which often blocks the route.
