When it comes to travel there is actually somewhat of a learning process, it’s not always as easy as just slapping a few things in your carry on luggage and taking off. Of course you could just lazily pack your bags on the day of your flight and you might just be fine, but most likely you’ll be thinking of all the things you should of brought with you on you trip. Over the years we have fine tuned our needs and gathered up some essential items that have helped us massively during our travels. Your essentials may vary depending on whether your sitting on an airplane enduring long flights or maybe your backpacking and you need to be thinking like a minimalist and have your bags be as lightweight as possible. We have compiled a list of 16 Essential Travel Accessories for men and for women from Amazon, that we personally couldn’t go without on our adventures.

(This article contains Skimlinks affliate links and all items are directly from Amazon and contain no mark ups in price. Purchasing an item from our list helps us out and at no extra cost to you. Thanks for the help.)

Whether on a road trip or on an airplane, everyone could use a little help packing and one of our tips is to grab some of these handy Packing Cubes Travel Organizers. They make packing your carry on bags so much easier and give you the option of separating your different accessories such as, electronics or toiletries.

Skyroam is an amazing company that offers it’s customers the ability to have a wifi internet connection when they travel the world. Being a digital nomad means needing a decent internet connection and finding that can be tricky in some parts of the world, but Skyroam has a solution with it’s handy pocket wifi hotspot devices, such as the Solis. It has helped us so many times in a pinch as cellphone roaming coverage while travelling in other countries is outrageous and sometimes you need to pull up Agoda or Google Maps to book a hotel or find directions.

A travel adapter and converter can definitely save your ass when traveling to other parts of the world such as Asia, Europe of Africa, and being that they are so cheap and relatively small. We ended up buying one and keeping it in our bag just in case and it actually came in handy big time when we traveled to Spain and nobody else we were traveling with had one and we saved the day, or month I should say.

A portable solar charger might be one of the best DIY backpacking or camping accessories on the market. It’s nice to be off the grid in mother nature, but it’s also nice to take pictures, so why not have the option of charging your camera, iPhone, Android, or tablet. We take one of these everywhere we go and use it to power our devices, wifi, and portable speaker while we lay on the beach.

One of the best and simplest ways to avoid neck pain while on an airplane for a long period of time is to get a neck pillow. It’s one of the only things that kelp you to get a decent sleep while you travel.

Having a power bank on handy can be a vital essential to your travel experience and allow you to store power and charge your camera or device on the go. They are generally slim like a cellphone and have the perfect design to easily slip into your pocket.

You never know when you’ll be sat next to a person who just happens to have sleep apnea and is keeping everybody on the airplane awake. Why not have some of these earplugs to ensure you get a decent sleep before arriving at your destination.

One way to make your travel experience much more enjoyable is to have a good portable travel speaker such as my personal favorite the Goalzero Speaker. I have been a fan of Goalzero and their products for years. Their products have durable design concepts and their compact bluetooth speaker is no different. There’s nothing better than chilling on the beach and hooking up our solar charger to our speaker, allowing us to play good music till the sun goes down.

There’s nothing worse than shuffling up to the check-in counter with your heavy ass luggage and being told that your bags are too heavy and you must remove some items. It’s even more embarrassing when you have to sort through your luggage, all while there’s a line up of grumpy travel beaten folks lined up watching you look like an unprepared amateur. A luggage scale is a small handy device that no traveler should be without.

A tablet can definitely be a very helpful travel device, especially for keeping you occupied during your flight. It can also be very helpful for things like searching Google Maps or researching local attractions.

A nice quality pair of headphones is a must, especially for travel on an airplane. Nowadays airlines will try to charge you for a junky pair of headphones and if your not willing to pay you will be stuck trying to read lips for the entire length of your flight.

Nobody wants to be the dork running around with a long stick taking selfies all day, but the truth is that selfie sticks are a great way to capture angles and views that are impossible otherwise. They allow you to get groups shots and easily fit more landscape and depth into the photograph.

Being well organized while you travel is important for helping things run smoothly and having to dig through your belongings and search for your important documents like passports is an added stress that can easily be avoided with a passport holder. Store all your important cards, cellphone, money and documents in one easy to store wallet.

Having devices and travel accessories means having many chargers and cords to deal with, so having and electronics organizer can save you a huge mess and headache by keeping everything neat, tidy and well organized.

A waterproof dry bag is a great item to have if your planning on doing lots of outdoor activities while traveling, like kayaking, canoeing, boating, hiking or your just hitting the beach and want to keep your belongings dry.

A laptop can be an important travel companion, especially if you work from the road or you are a digital nomad who relies on your laptop for editing purposes and running a website. You may also be a student who has collage courses to complete and a laptop is a must have travel item. I recommend the Lenovo Chromebook which I recently purchased so I could run my website and work on some university courses while I travel. The Chromebook is a handy touchscreen laptop that doubles as a tablet, has great ratings on Amazon and is reasonably priced to top it off.
