About SilverStar, Okanagan Valley
SilverStar Mountain is a ski resort, village, and hiking wilderness area that allows visitors to take in British Columbia’s abundant natural beauty. Adventurous types can enjoy the mountain on skis in the winter and on foot or mountain bike in the summer. The mountain is situated high in the alpine forests of British Columbia's Okanagan Valley and is only 20-minutes from the city of Vernon and around an hour from the Kelowna International Airport (YLW).
SilverStar Mountain is home to a small village and has some residents who make the mountain their permanent home. The homes are all built in a charming and colorful European chalet style and are quite lovely. In the center of the little downtown area, there are several stores, restaurants, and hotels.

Fun Things to do at Silver Star (Summer)
Hiking - Hikers will take in sweeping mountain views from one of SilverStar’s excellent hiking trails. They can choose to hike up the mountain or ride the Des Scheumann Summit express Gondola up and then hike down.
Coming from the hot Okanagan Valley, visitors will enjoy the cooler summertime temperatures, the fresh mountain air, and the abundance of wildflowers, and wild berries.
Mountain Biking - SilverStar Mountain offers a variety of biking trails, from beginner trails that gently wind through patches of wildflower meadows to expert trails that boast plenty of berms and jumps for the more advanced riders.
SilverStar Gondola Ride - Gondola riders will be able to take in the spectacular scenery of the Okanagan Valley and the Monashee Mountain range. The lift will also allow them easy access to all the mountain’s hiking trails. Gondola tickets run at $25 per person for an all-day pass and children under 5 are free of charge.
Gnome Roam - The SilverStar Gnome Roam is great for families with children and leads them on an easy-going self-guided tour where they can track down the mountain’s mystical gnomes.
Visitors can easily stop by the Village Ticket Office and grab a map to help them locate the gnomes.
SilverStar Museum - The SilverStar Mountain Museum helps to preserve the artifacts and stories from the history of the people and events that helped the mountain village come to life. The history of the mountain goes back hundreds, if not thousands of years starting with the First Nations people, and then with the arrival of Europeans, it became a hub for mining and forestry activities, and for recreation in the most recent years.
Gallery Odin - Gallery Odin has been dubbed "Canada's highest Art Gallery” due to it being the only art gallery that is located high in the mountains. The gallery features a private art collection that shows off works from Western Canadian artists. There are both 2 and 3-dimensional art pieces on display.
The gallery has over 100 pieces of art from paintings using oil, acrylics, mixed media, and watercolor paintings, as well as ceramics, fiber, and glass art.
