Boca Beach, Boca de Tomatlan
About Boca Beach, Jalisco, Mexico
Boca Beach is a spectacular stretch of sand that is situated at the mouth of the Horcones River in the small Jalisco village of Boca de Tomatlan, Mexico. The beach is divided into two sections with the river in the middle, and the Malecon on the north side. On the south side, there are no roads, but you will find a walking path where some locals access their houses and where visitors can hike through the jungle to other villages and beaches. At the Boca Malecón, you can find the pier where you can hop on water taxis that will take you back to Puerto Vallarta or over to Yelapa. The malecón also provides access to restaurants and shops where you can get food and drinks.
Boca Beach is an excellent place to spend the day and provides a great place to swim in the calm waters that are protected by the bay. There are nearby public washrooms and showers that you can use for about $0.30 USD.
