Boothman’s Oxbow Provincial Park

Boothman’s Oxbow Provincial Park

Though relatively unknown, Boothman’s Oxbow Provincial Park is certainly an attraction that is well worth adding to your West Kootenay bucket list. The park is situated east of Grand Forks, British Columbia along a section of the beautiful Kettle River.

Boothman’s Oxbow Provincial Park is also a popular stopover on the renowned Trans Canada Trail. The trail is a whopping 24,000 km (15,000 mi) and stretches across Canada from the Pacific to the Atlantic and holds the prestigious title of ‘World’s Longest Recreational Trail’.

The park itself is a great place to spend the day cooling off in the tepid waters and enjoying the large sandy white beach. In the distance, you’ll have a glimpse of some mountain ranges that are actually part of Washington, USA, as the border lies not far from the park. Aside from the endless beauty of the park, visitors can also enjoy fishing during the open season.
