Kentucky Alleyne Provincial Park is situated in the countryside of Merritt, British Columbia. It consists of two gorgeous turquoise lakes called Kentucky Lake and Alleyne Lake which are perfectly tucked into the Thompson-Nicola region’s backcountry. The two lakes are part of a larger chain of many small lakes and ponds. This incredible provincial park boasts excellent fishing, and wildlife watching, and provides a great place for camping. There are hiking trails all throughout the park that show off the lakes stunning blue water and lead you to private coves where you can swim and enjoy the peaceful tranquility of some of the best lakes.
These lakes are completely underrated and until recently were relatively unknown to the public, but that is changing quickly and with good reason. The park is easily accessible and is the perfect weekend destination if you're coming from the coast or from the Okanagan Valley, as it lies conveniently just off the Coquihalla Highway.
