Seton Lake
About Seton Lake, Lillooet, BC
Seton Lake is a naturally formed fjord lake that is owned by the BC Hydro company who uses a dam to create electricity for the surrounding area. The lake is situated near the wonderful First Nations town of Lillooet, British Columbia, Canada, and is nestled into the outer edge of what is Canada’s version of the Himalayan Mountains called the Coastal Mountains. The scenery around the lake is unreal and the landscape is so treacherous that much of the lake is only accessible by boat.
There are campgrounds, picnic areas, boating, canoeing, hiking, and fishing opportunities in the area. There is also a scenic passenger train ride that takes you along the shores of Seton Lake and goes from Lillooet to Seton Portage and back again and is said to be one of the most scenic rail trips in the world.
For an excellent lookout point hike up to the Seton Lake Lookout, which features a short hike followed by incredible sweeping views.
