Cenote Punta Esmeralda is a small, but beautiful cenote in Quintana Roo that is lies just a few steps through the jungle from Playa Punta Esmeralda in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. The cenote is completely free of charge and there is no signage pointing to its whereabouts, which makes it easy to miss and most beachgoers wouldn’t even notice it. Though tiny in size the cenote is magical and glistens with a wonderful blue color. The water is fairly warm and is fed by an underground river system that flows out into the Caribbean Sea.
Playa Punta Esmeralda is spectacular and is well worth a visit and Cenote Punta esmeralda is the cherry on top of the tropical cake. Be sure to visit the beach in the morning to ensure you get a good spot and that you can visit the cenote in peace.
