Ione Falls is a small, but gorgeous waterfall located along a scenic stretch of Highway 23, in the Central Kootenay region of British Columbia. The falls empty into beautiful Arrow Lakes and are situated just south of the Shelter Bay - Galena Bay Ferry terminal and north of the town of Nakusp. There is no hiking involved in order to see the falls and they are part of a rest stop called the Ione Falls Rest Area.
Standing 29 meters (95 feet) tall with no shortage of beauty, Ione Falls is a great stopover for any Kootenay itinerary. The rest area also has a picnic table that sits at the base of the falls providing an excellent place to kick back and enjoy the view. In the middle of the hot summer months, the falls are a great place to cool off.
