The Osoyoos Beach Walk is situated along the popular body of water known as Osoyoos Lake. It is located in Canada’s only desert region, the spectacular Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The valley possesses a warmer than usual climate when compared with the rest of the country and this makes it a much sought-after vacation destination. The great weather also allows for the production of a multitude of different types of fruits along with world-class wines and ciders. Tourists flock here every summer for not only the near-perfect weather but also for the great golfing they can do while visiting the town.
The walk itself is a great introduction to the village and takes you from the Pioneer Walkway and Veterans Memorial past the wonderful Watermark Beach Resort Hotel. The path leads you through grassy areas with big shade trees alongside a large sandy beach that is perfect for cooling off in the hot summer heat. The walk provides great views of the north half of Osoyoos Lake as well as Anarchist Mountain in the background. Depending on what way you are walking you may end up at Gyro Osoyoos Park which is a lovely park with great amenities and a picturesque sandy beach. From here you can walk directly into town and check out all the restaurants, cafes, and shops that this awesome beach town has to offer.
