About Overlander Park, Kamloops, BC

Overlander Park is one of the main attractions of the city of Kamloops, British Columbia, and features a large white sand beach located on the Thompson River. It is the spot where two rivers converge, the North Thompson River and the South Thompson River. The meeting of these two rivers has created an amazing sand bar that allows you to walk out into the river when the water is low. The mixture of blue and brown waters creates a brilliant contrast of colors.

The Park itself has volleyball courts, tennis courts, public washrooms, and a walking path that leads to the 40-kilometer Rivers Trail.

Overlander Park is the perfect spot to spend the day swimming in the perfect waters of the river and soaking up the endless sunshine that Kamloops gets. It is also a great place to launch a kayak or canoe.
