Pavilion Lake is perfectly tucked into the dramatic mountain ranges of Marble Canyon, British Columbia, Canada. It is located just off of Highway 99 in between the towns of Cache Creek and Lillooet. The lake lies within the boundaries of the Marble Canyon Provincial Park and sits on the edge of the vast wilderness that is known as the Coastal Mountains. The surrounding mountains of Marble Canyon, include Chimney Rock, which is a spiritual place for the First Nations communities that live in the region.
Monte Lake is a small picturesque lake situated in the Thompson-Nicola region of beautiful British Columbia, Canada. It is well known in the area for its great fishing, which includes kokanee salmon, rainbow trout, and brook trout. It is also an excellent lake to take the family camping for the weekend and has a wonderful lakefront campsite and RV park called the Monte Lake Resort. There are also day-use areas on the North end of the lake with small beaches and swimming spots with crystal clear water.
Kopje Regional Park is situated on Okanagan Lake along a scenic back road between Vernon and Kelowna in an area called Lake Country, British Columbia. It features 3.2 hectares of lakefront land with picnic areas, a playground, washrooms, and a large rock beach with perfect views of Grant Island.
Fintry Provincial Park is a family-friendly lakeside destination located in the scenic Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. Fintry Provincial Park is 360-hectares of much sought after land that has been set aside for public use and is part of the picturesque Fintry delta which extends out into the world-renowned Okanagan Lake. The park has over 2 km of waterfront containing beautiful sandy beaches and lakeside walking and hiking trails.
Mabel Lake, British Columbia is a beautiful 26-mile long body of water with crystal clear waters. The lake has a marina with a store, a provincial campsite as well as several other free campsites further down the road. This pristine lake is situated in the spectacular Monashee Mountain range and perfectly tucked into the lush rainforests on the outer edges of the Okanagan region.
Shuswap Falls in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia is the result of the man-made Wilsey Dam site and provides an excellent place for swimming, cliff jumping, kayaking, canoeing, or just a good ole family picnic. There are also several hiking trails leading to beautiful swimming spots and to places where you can observe the dam and waterfalls in all their glory. Shuswap Falls is essentially a recreation area that includes a parking lot, picnic tables, and pit toilets.
Kaloya Regional Park is a 3.7-hectare lakefront park located on the shores of gorgeous Kalamalka Lake in the village of Oyama, British Columbia. Oyama is part of the region within the Okanagan Valley known as Lake Country. The park is beautifully maintained with neatly kept landscaping, beaches, and washrooms. Kalamalka is known for its incredibly clear blue water and Kaloya shows this trait off perfectly. There are pretty flower gardens that add a welcoming ambiance to the already picture-perfect park. With its incredible turquoise water backdrop and colorful gardens it no surprise why locals opt to have their wedding events here.
There are beaches with gorgeous Pacific Ocean settings like in Vancouver and the Gulf Islands or beaches with calm fresh waters like in the Okanagan Valley and the Kootenays. With over 40,000 islands in BC alone, it would be nearly impossible to put a number on how many beaches there is or to actually know for certain which ones are the best. Ellison Provincial Park is situated on the outskirts of the city of Vernon, in the fantastic Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. It has spectacular scenery with sheltered coves of clear jade colored waters, along with gorgeous red sand beaches that are unmatched in their unique beauty. There are many hiking trails throughout the park that take you precariously along the edges of high cliffs that overlook the shores of Okanagan Lake.
