Oct 18 Sẁiẁs Provincial Park (Haynes Point)

Sẁiẁs Provincial Park (Haynes Point) is a narrow peninsula of land located on Osoyoos Lake, British Columbia. It is situated in the Okanagan Valley on the outskirts of the small town of Osoyoos and is within the traditional territory of the Osoyoos Indian Band. For thousands of years, the indigenous peoples of the Okanagan have inhabited the lands at Sẁiẁs Provincial Park. The park itself is a gorgeous strip of land that extends almost across the entirety of Osoyoos Lake and when the water is low during the summer you can pretty much walk to the other side. The park’s shores are lined with picturesque beaches that are perfect for family picnics and are open for public day-use. Sẁiẁs Provincial Park also provides campers with 41 vehicle accessible campsites and 7 of which are doubles campsites for large families and groups. Rates are $32 for one site per night or $16 for senior citizens.

Oct 16 Swan Lake Nature Reserve Loop, Vernon

The Swan Lake Nature Reserve Loop is located at the head of Swan Lake on the outskirts of Vernon, British Columbia. It is one of over 50 lakes in the Okanagan Valley, but Swan Lake is not generally used for swimming as it is quite swampy, though it is very popular for fishing, kayaking, and wildlife watching. The hike which is actually more of an easy walk takes you through picturesque grasslands with grasses that are over 6 feet tall. You will be treated to scenic rolling fields lined with quaint farmhouses and decrepit barns from the days of old. The surrounding hills roll down into the flat prairie-like valley and create a natural canvas with lovely photogenic qualities.

Oct 15 Pyramid Provincial Park

Pyramid Provincial Park is one of a string of three provincial parks located in the Summerland area of the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, and is situated on Okanagan Lake along Highway 97. Pyramid along with Kickininee and Soorimpt Provincial Parks all within minutes of each other and are road trip stopovers. The park is also connected to the uber-popular Kettle Valley Rail Trail which is the longest rail-trail in BC and stretches 650 km from Hope to Castlegar.

Oct 14 Rotary Beach, Tuc-El-Nuit Lake

Rotary Beach is located on the South end of the beautiful and exquisite Tuc-El-Nuit Lake in the town of Oliver, British Columbia, also known as “The Wine Capital of Canada”. It is perfectly situated in the midst of the mountainous desert terrain of the world-famous Okanagan Valley. Kenyon Park is conveniently located on 8th Avenue in the small community of Okanagan Falls, British Columbia. It is situated at the head of picturesque Skaha Lake in the sought after wine and fruit region of Okanagan Valley, Canada. The park is approximately 2 acres and is fully geared towards being a family-friendly place that is perfect for a fun-filled day at the beach. Kids will fall in love with the John Bell Playground, which was actually designed by the local children in the area. The playground features a neat zip line and a triple slide which allows kids to race each other down. There is also a recently constructed children’s spray park which is a hit with kids and comes complete with water cannons, dump buckets, and more.

It is perfectly situated along Lakeshore Drive which is one of the Okanagan Valley’s premier vacation spots and it features many beaches and parks as well as resorts, hotels, restaurants, cafes, and shops. The beach itself features a kilometer of gorgeous sandy beach overlooking Okanagan Lake and its surrounding desert hills and mountains. It has a swimming area, floating docks, children’s slides, shade trees, wheelchair-access ramps, public fire pits, washrooms, and free parking. At the end of the beach is the S.S. Sicamous Museum and Heritage Park, which is a large paddlewheel ferry boat that used to carry passengers up and down Okanagan Lake.

Gordon Beggs Rotary Beach is a beautiful park on Okanagan Lake in Summerland, British Columbia. It is just one of many spectacular beaches that are located on Summerland’s scenic Lakeshore Drive. The drive also boasts walkways along the lake that connect with the other beaches, as well as a local pub. The park itself features fine powdery white sand and generally calm Okanagan Lake waters. Swim Bay is a fun Okanagan attraction that is located in the splendid little beach town of Peachland, British Columbia. Oct 8 Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park

Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia which is saying a lot if you consider that the region literally has hundreds of gorgeous beaches. It is located just outside of the small lakeside town of Summerland. It is conveniently situated right off of Highway 97 and is also just a short drive from the city of Penticton, BC. The park opened in 1969 and first went by the name Claybanks Beach Park. It covers an area of around 30 hectares and the 558m of Okanagan Lake shoreline.

Oct 4 Station Beach, Oyama

Station Beach is located in the picturesque isthmus beach community of Oyama, British Columbia, Canada. it is situated at the head lovely Wood Lake in the Okanagan Valley and is connected via a channel to its larger sibling body of water known as Kalamalka Lake. Wood Lake is much smaller than Kalamalka Lake and the water is generally much warmer. In previous years Oyama was a busy little town and was a touristy stopping point on the main highway from Kelowna to Vernon called the Pelmewash Parkway, this made Station beach quite popular and busy.
