Kinsmen Park is a small rocky beach on the sought-after Okanagan Lake, in the aptly named town of Summerland, British Columbia. The park features beautiful views of Okanagan Lake looking out towards the city of Kelowna, which is the hub of the popular vacation destination known as the Okanagan Valley.
Being that it is a fairly small beach It lacks amenities but does have some picnic tables, children’s playground equipment, a tiny Japanese garden area, and a cool slide that goes from the top of the park’s entrance stairs and allows you to slide down. The park also boasts a trickling stream that adds to the relaxing ambiance of the spot.

Proctor Lake is a small alpine body of water that is located in the mountains that surround the city of Vernon, British Columbia. it sits high above the bottom of the Okanagan Valley and has an elevation of 1,365 meters. The lake is accessible by taking Silver Star Road from Vernon and is also around 5.1 miles from the town of Armstrong.
Situated along Highway 6 of the Okanagan Valley in the village of Cherryville, British Columbia is a beautiful day-use park called the Shuswap River Picnic Area. The park makes an excellent stopover for road-trippers making the journey from the Okanagan Valley to the Kootenays region and at certain times of the year when the water is low visitors can even jump in and cool off in the crystal clear Shuswap River.

Cascade Beach is an idyllic recreation campsite that lies along the shores of beautiful Mabel Lake in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The site features several tent-only campsites that are equipped with an outhouse and plenty of flat spots to pitch a tent, including several directly on the beach. Camping at Cascade Beach is completely free and can be used on a first-come, first-serve basis.
King Edward Lake is a gorgeous body of water that is situated in the high alpine Aberdeen Plateau in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The lake has an elevation of 1,358 meters and is just one of many lakes that are located on the plateau. King Edward Lake is about 30 minutes drive from the city of Vernon and is an excellent place to get away from the busier lakes at the bottom of the valley.
Damer Lake is a small body of water in British Columbia that is situated high in the Okanagan Valley alpine area. The lake is located in a beautiful mountainous region that boasts a plethora of small lakes. Damer Lake is primarily used for fishing and camping and features the Damer Lake Recreation Site, which is an excellent campsite.
Oyama Lake is situated in the highland alpine of the beautiful Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. It is an 800-acre lake with a geologic history of volcanic origins. The lake has excellent fishing opportunities and is stocked with tasty rainbow trout, 15,000-30,000 per year, to be exact. Oyama Lake is very tranquil which makes it the perfect place for kayaking paddle boarding, and canoeing. There are a few hiking trails to choose from as well as 27 islands giving visitors plenty to explore
Deep into the forested hills of Enderby, British Columbia is the picture-perfect body of water known as Hidden Lake. The lake is an idyllic Okanagan getaway that features plenty of small beaches and coves with warm swimmable water. It also boasts 3 public campgrounds with a total of 46 campsites, as well as day-use spots for those coming for the day. Campsites go for a cheap $15 per night and cannot be reserved as they are secured on a first come first serve basis.
Beachcomber Bay Beach is a brand new beach access point that is situated on the outskirts of the city of Vernon, British Columbia. The park sits on the shores of Okanagan Lake just off of scenic Tronson Road heading towards Adventure Bay. It offers beachgoers a gorgeous spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful lake and mountain scenery and the peaceful lapping of the waves. The park features a small beach with a combination of sand and rock, as well as a nice park bench. There are currently no washrooms or outhouses at Beachcomber Bay Beach.
Belvidere Park features sandy beach areas with great swimming and offers some of the best views of the hiking trail known as the Enderby Cliffs. The park is also home to a Visitor Centre and the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as public washrooms, picnic tables, and a canoe launch. The park is also a convenient spot to access the Riverwalk trail or launch a tube, paddleboard or kayak and enjoy a day floating down the Shuswap River.
Fuller Road Beach is a small park located in Kelowna, British Columbia that provides beach access to beautiful Okanagan Lake. It is situated in an area of Kelowna known as the Lower Mission and is just one of many beach access points that lie along the popular Lakeshore Drive. The park features a swing set, a small playground, and a picnic table. For a fun adventure, try renting one of the local Lime E-scooters and make Fuller Road Beach a stopover on your Lakeshore Drive beach hopping cruise.
Skaha Lake is a gorgeous body of water that stretches for 11.8 km (7.3 mi) and has a max-width of 2.2 km (1.4 mi). It is perfectly nestled into the scenic Okanagan Valley of British Columbia, Canada, and is situated between the city of Penticton at the north end and the village of Okanagan Falls at the south end. The lake is also home to the quaint little village of Kaleden, which lies on its western shores. The source of Skaha Lake is Okanagan Lake via the Penticton Channel. Consider taking your next vacation to the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia, where you will find lovely Kalamalka Lake. Kal Lake is in fact so gorgeous that I would put it up there with some of the best lakes in the world. It is a mid-sized lake that stretches about 16 km from the city of Vernon to the small beach town of Oyama. The lake is epic at any time of the year but is especially vibrant in the summer months when its water temperatures heat up and create a reaction called light scattering.
Lisheen Beach is a relatively unknown beach access point situated in the Okanagan Valley on the shores of lovely Kalamalka Lake, British Columbia. This beautiful beach lies in the Coldstream community on the outskirts of the city of Vernon. The beach lacks any kind of amenities but does provide visitors with a great place to go swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, or just a place to relax and have a sunset picnic.
Gallagher Lake is a small but beautiful body of water situated on the outskirts of the town of Oliver. Located in the beautiful Okanagan Valley, British Columbia this natural spring-fed lake boasts dramatic mountain settings and incredible turquoise water. The landscape around the lake is mainly desert and as such, it is packed full of fun activities like hiking, biking, and wine tours. Many world-class wines are produced in Oliver and it has been aptly dubbed “the wine capital of Canada”
Davis Cove Beach is situated in Peachland, British Columbia which is one of the Okanagan Valley’s most idyllic towns. This splendid little beach park sits at the very start of a popular 11 kilometer stretch of shoreline known as Beach Avenue. The beach features lovely sand and great views of Okanagan Lake and Okanagan Mountain but doesn't have anything in terms of amenities. On either side of the beach are convenient beachfront rentals called the Davis Cove Resort and the Peachland Lakehouse Vacation Rental
Heartnut Park is a small beach access point that is located on the shores of beautiful Okanagan Lake, British Columbia. It is situated in the Gellatly area of the city of West Kelowna. Aside from a private place for a picnic and a small rocky beach, the park doesn’t feature anything in terms of amenities. Heartnut Park is next to a popular tourist attraction called the Gellatly Nut Farm. The farm is an important piece of Okanagan history and showcases beautiful old pioneer buildings.
Braeloch Road Beach is a lake access point that is located in the beautiful Lakeshore Drive area of the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. It is one of many beaches and lake access points that are situated in this popular tourist and resort spot. The beach sits in a quiet neighborhood and features a nice sandy beach and picnic tables. Though Braeloch Road Beach doesn’t have much in terms of amenities it is an excellent place for a family picnic or doing some paddleboarding.
Hazelnut Park is an undeveloped beach that is situated on beautiful Okanagan Lake. It lies in the Gellatly area of West Kelowna, British Columbia. The park features a beach comprised of sand, gravel, and small natural rocks. It is located next to the local attraction called Gellatly Nut Farm, which is a historic piece of the Okanagan. Overall Hazelnut Park is a great place for a beach picnic and provides visitors with privacy in an otherwise busy tourist area. The beach also makes for an excellent place to swim or launch paddleboards or kayaks.

Mint Beach is a small park and beach that is situated on lovely Kalamalka Lake, British Columbia. This ideally located beach lies on Westkal Road in the Coldstream area of the city of Vernon. This beach park undeveloped and has nothing in terms of amenities aside from two parking spaces, a trash can. It has a small sandy area that is perfect for taking a swim in the crystal clear waters of Kalamalka Lake. There are a couple of chairs that were brought there by some locals that provide an excellent spot for hanging out at the lake. Keep in mind there aren’t any kind of washrooms at Mint Beach.
Lakeshore Road in Kelowna, British Columbia is abundant in beautiful beaches and Hobson Beach park is surely one of them. This Okanagan park is mostly undeveloped but does have some picnic tables and colorful Adirondack chairs for lounging. The beach is not only great for family picnics but provides a great place for swimming, floating, kayaking and is part of the Kelowna Paddle Trail. The trail is a 27 km shoreline paddle that features 20 beaches and parks, 3 lakefront resorts, and 2 bird sanctuaries.

The beach is located on the edge of spectacular Kalamalka Lake on Westkal Road, which is technically considered the greater Vernon area. The park has nothing in terms of amenities aside from two parking spaces, and a trash can. It features a sandy little beach area that is perfect for family picnics and makes for a great place to cool off go swimming in the crystal clear waters of Kalamalka Lake.

Full Loop Trail is a brand new hiking trail that is situated in the tiny village of Okanagan Centre in Lake Country, BC. The trail is located just off of Okanagan Centre Rd W and leads hikers uphill as it meanders through hilly grasslands and desert-like canyons.
Ribbleworth Falls is a gorgeous cascading waterfall located in Lake Country, British Columbia. The falls can be reached by taking the Okanagan Rail Trail from one of the two villages of Oyama or Winfield.
The Campbell - Brown hiking trail is a brand new trail in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, and is situated just a few minute’s drive from the city of Vernon along Highway 97. Bluenose Mountain is located on the outskirts of the small community of Lavington in the spectacular Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. This beautiful 3km Okanagan hiking trail is situated in the picturesque golfing village of Predator Ridge, which is around a 15-minute drive from the city of Vernon, British Columbia, and sits atop a small mountain range overlooking world-renowned Okanagan Lake in the heart of BC’s wine country.
The Grey Canal Trail in Okanagan Valley, British Columbia was created in 1905 to make running water throughout the valley a reality for the inhabitants who needed to water the crops of the local farms, orchards, and vineyards. By 1970 modern technology took over and it was no longer useful and it was decommissioned by the city of Vernon.
If you think the name Pincushion Mountain sounds strange, well there is a perfectly good explanation for the unique moniker. This gorgeous Okanagan Lake lookout got its name when it was scorched by a wildfire in the early 19th century leaving the trees looking like they were pins sticking out of a pincushion. The mountain is situated high above the lovely beach resort town of Peachland, British Columbia which is around 20 minutes from the Okanagan Valley’s biggest metropolitan area, the city of Kelowna.
Spion Kop isn’t the largest mountain in the North Okanagan but it could compete for one the best views, which include views of Wood Lake, Okanagan Lake, and Ellison Lake. It is situated in the beautiful community known as Lake Country, British Columbia. There are several ways to enter the including entry points at Carr’s Landing and Oyama along the scenic Pelmewash Parkway, where you will hike right under the highway through a gigantic culvert.
The Enderby Cliffs is a massively steep cliff of volcanic origins that towers high above the Shuswap River and gives hikers spectacular views of the Okanagan Valley and the Shuswap regions of British Columbia. While on top of the cliffs hikers can enjoy watching the soaring predatory birds while they float in the ever-present updrafts created by the wind hitting the steep cliffs and shooting upwards. The park itself, known as Enderby Cliffs Provincial Park is 2,299 hectares of Okanagan wilderness which has been conveniently set aside for the public’s enjoyment.
Lochview Trail in Kelowna, British Columbia offers stunning views and takes you along the edge of gorgeous Okanagan Lake. The trail has plenty of ups and downs and there are many sets of stairs to climb, which provides an excellent workout. There is also a staircase leading down to a small beach along the way and if you continue on the trail it will connect you to Paul’s Tomb on Knox Mountain, where there are also hiking trails and a beautiful beach.
Middleton Mountain is not really a mountain at all, but more of a hill that is located smack dab in the middle of the city of Vernon, British Columbia. Though this hike doesn’t take you to the top of some alpine mountain terrain, it provides an excellent trek through the arid cactus riddled grasslands that are native to the Okanagan Valley and provides a great 360 view of Kalamalka Lake and Swan Lake. Kalamalka Lake looks stunning from the top, especially in the summer months when the calcite in the water causes it to practically glow with a vibrant turquoise hew. The trail is a moderate 3.2 km loop that is great for families, as long as you watch out for the prickly pear cactus.
Johns Family Nature Conservancy in Kelowna, British Columbia offers up truly inspiring views of Okanagan Lake and the beautiful scenery that surrounds it. This public park got its name when the area was scorched by a massive wildfire and the notable Johns Family decided to donate 323 hectares of land in order to conserve the rest of this pristine wilderness and let the public enjoy it as well. The park was therefore renamed from Cedar Mountain Park to its current title Johns Family Conservancy Regional Park(too long). Nowadays the park is a total of 402.5 hectares.
The Cougar Canyon Ecological Reserve is a 553-hectare park with ample hiking trails and rock climbing spots. It is situated on the east side of the beautiful Kalamalka Lake in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, and is around 13 km south of the city of Vernon. The ecological reserve is right next door to the popular Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. The reserve has narrow canyons and a chain of six picturesque lakes along with wetland habitats that are perfect for wildlife viewing.
Mt. Boucherie is a very popular hiking trail in West Kelowna, British Columbia, where hikers get to scale an ancient volcano. Located across the Kelowna bridge, Mt. Boucherie is easy to spots as it juts up from the ground in the middle of it’s flatter surroundings and you get a sense of how steep it’s cliffs are from the highway as you head south.
Camel’s Hump is a visual icon for the North Okanagan and can be spotted from many miles away while driving along Kalamalka Lake on Highway 97. If your an avid hiker such as myself then this mountain will be sure to draw you in from afar. It is well known for being an ancient extinct volcano and when you lay your eyes on in it you’ll understand why it got the name Camel’s Hump. It is situated in the lush green Creighton Valley, Okanagan, British Columbia on the edge of the vast backcountry wilderness.
Rose Swanson hiking trails are located within the rural farming community of Armstrong, British Columbia, and tucked away in the beautiful Okanagan Valley. It is a moderately difficult hike that takes you through the thick green forest, eventually leading you to a mountaintop clearing with sensational views of the Spallumcheen area, as well as Okanagan Lake and Swan Lake.
Fintry Falls Provincial Park is located on the beautiful Fintry delta along the incredibly beautiful Okanagan Lake in British Columbia, Canada. There is a small community located on one end of the delta and it is known as Fintry. The provincial park itself has campsites and gorgeous beaches located within its boundaries. Shorts Creek, which eventually turns into the falls starts high on top of Terrace Mountain and exits out into the lake.
McDougall Rim Trail is located in West Kelowna, British Columbia, in the world-renowned wine region of the Okanagan Valley. The area around the city of Kelowna has the perfect mixture of city life and country life all wrapped up in one beautiful package. You could be downtown enjoying the vibrant atmosphere of the popular Bernard Street and then decide to go on a wilderness hike and be at the trailhead within minutes.
