History of Albercutx Watchtower
The Albercutx Watchtower was strategically constructed in the late sixteenth or early seventeenth century with the particular location being chosen because you could see for many miles in any direction. This made it ideal for the surveillance of the coastline where they could spot pirate boats attempting to come ashore and wreak havoc on the island’s inhabitants. Nowadays the watchtower serves as an excellent tourist attraction and viewpoint where visitors can choose to either drive up or hike. The hike takes around 1.5 hours if you take the road, but if you take the steep set of stairs that head straight up the mountain, then you can make it up much faster.
