BX Falls Trail
About BX Creek and Falls, Vernon, British Columbia
BX Creek and Falls are located on Tillicum Road just outside of Vernon, British Columbia, and are situated in forested ravines and gullies that have been naturally carved out by the water for many millennia. They are just one of many spectacular attractions within the desirable Okanagan Valley, BC, and provide a rainforest-like feel as opposed to that of the desert-like valley below. The lushness of the place can be directly attributed to the consistently moist microclimate that is created by the canyon walls and the creek working together.
The falls themselves change in volume and intensity throughout the seasons and in springtime when the snow melts at Silver Star Mountain it creates an intense flow of raging water that is quite the sight to see. By late summer the falls will have generally slowed right down to a more tranquil downflow. Both versions of the falls are gorgeous and worth seeing and they only take 5 minutes of walking to get to. You will then have the option to continue on the trail to the end where there is a dam and some nice swimming holes.

The BX Falls hiking trail offers a splendid walk that leads hikers through a vibrant forest environment abundant in cedars, firs, cottonwood, birch, ferns, and carpets of green mosses. In mid-summer when the Okanagan heat cranks up and BX Creek slows down there are leftover pools of water that make wonderful places to swim and cool off. Small wooden bridges take you safely over sections of the creek where there are trickling little waterfalls splashing into pools of crystal clear water that is fresh off the mountain.
