Lebanon Creek Trail, Kelowna
About Lebanon Creek Greenway, Kelowna, British Columbia
The Lebanon Creek Greenway is a popular regional park that is situated on the outskirts of the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. It is located along scenic Lakeshore Road in an idyllic setting amongst orchards, wineries, and vineyards. It is a beautiful slice of the Okanagan Valley and provides an important corridor for local wildlife to move from the mountains down to the lake. Hiking through the canyon will provide wildlife enthusiasts with an excellent opportunity to spot some of BC’s animal species like deer, black bears, marmots, bobcats, cougar, coyote, rattlesnakes, garter snakes, and turkey vultures.
The trail itself runs 2.3 km one way and is moderately difficult. Hikers will need to trek down into the canyon and across some bridges that were built over Lebanon Creek. After the creek, you will hike up the other side of the canyon and ascend the switchback mountain trail that connects to another park called Johns Family Nature Conservancy. Once up there you will be treated to epic panoramic views of Okanagan Lake and you will have the option to continue on to the next park if you like.
There are also two short trails within the park, which are great loop hikes for those who cannot or simply don’t want to hike up the steep mountainside.
