Perrine Coulee Falls is a magnificent sight to behold and drops almost 200 feet as it plunges into the rocks below. It runs year-round and is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Twin Falls, Idaho. Summer flows are even stronger than winter and the mist seems to be a welcome experience when the scorching desert heat is at its peak. Perrine Coulee Falls can be viewed from the above walking path which takes visitors along the edge of the Snake River Canyon on the Canyon Rim Trail. Visitors can also get up close and personal by doing a short hike that takes them behind the falls.

History

The Perrine Coulee Falls is a man-made waterfall that was the result of a canal system that was built in 1905. Before the construction of the Perrine Bridge in 1927, the only way to cross the Snake River Gorge was to go right behind the falls. The road that led people behind the falls was built by I.B. Perrine in the 1890’s. Eventually, a new road was built to avoid going through the waterfall.
