Hidden Troll Forest, Vernon, BC

The Hidden Troll Forest as we call it at Exploratory Glory is a hiking trail that is situated just off of Bench Row Road on the outskirts of the city of Vernon, British Columbia. It is a dog-friendly walking path that is relatively flat and features a beautiful stand of forest that was originally planted for the purpose of irrigation. The outer trail features idyllic scenery overlooking Okanagan Valley grasslands and picturesque farm acreages

The Wall Trail, Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park

The Wall and Base Lift Loop is a 4.8-kilometer hiking trail and is just one of many trails that lies in the world-famous Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. The park is roughly ten minutes from the city of Vernon, British Columbia, and features three separate parking lots that are located at different sections of the park, each offering a plethora of trails leading to lookouts and beaches.

Okanagan High Rim Trail (Bear Valley), Vernon

The Okanagan High Rim Trail is an idyllic hiking trail that stretches for around 57 km between the cities of Vernon and Kelowna, British Columbia. The entirety of this hike takes several days round trip depending on fitness levels and distance goals. The trail provides epic views of Kalamalka Lake, Wood Lake, Ellison Lake, as well as providing stunning panoramic scenes of the Okanagan Valley and its surrounding mountains. Hikers can seemingly continue on forever as the trail eventually connects to the lengthy 650 km Kettle Valley Rail Trail.

Foothills Butte, Vernon, BC

To enjoy one of the most spectacular views in Vernon, British Columbia, one must take the time to hike the trail known as the Foothills Butte. This trail leads you up the mountain for about 15 minutes taking you through gorgeous Okanagan grasslands to open fields with panoramic scenery. From the top, you will see most of the city of Vernon along with three beautiful lakes, Kalamalka Lake, Okanagan Lake, and Swan Lake. After taking in the incredible views, you will have the option to head back down or continue on one of several other trails that meander through forests on mountainsides.

Milky Way Trail, Silver Star, BC

The Silver Star, Milky Way Trail is a popular ski run and hiking trail located in the Okanagan highlands of British Columbia, Canada. The trail takes hikers up the mountain and meanders through beautiful grasslands teeming with wildflowers. The trail is moderately difficult and takes around an hour from the village to the top. During the hike, you will be treated to excellent views of the seemingly endless alpine mountain ranges that are abundant in the region.
