Lake Las Vegas
About Lake Las Vegas, Nevada, USA
Lake Las Vegas, Nevada is abundant in gorgeous desert scenery and features a Mediterranean Italian-themed village. Though not far from Las Vegas this beautiful oasis offers a dramatically different atmosphere than the bright lights and constant noise and instead offers a much more quiet and peaceful vacation.
The lake itself is man-made and was originally planned to be a luxury, nature retreat but has struggled since opening and has been steeped in controversy. For many different reasons Lake Las Vegas never reached its full potential as some had thought it would. That being said Lake Las Vegas is an excellent place to escape the craziness of its busy neighbor of Vegas and just relax in peace, which is precisely why many of its residents came to live here in the first place.

History
Businessman and film actor J. Carlton Adair. As an actor, Adair had big-time dreams of accomplishing the incredible feat of building a resort oasis in the middle of the desert in the Henderson area. in the 1960s Adair purchased a large plot of land and water rights for what was then known as Lake Adair but would eventually become Lake Las Vegas. Adair just couldn’t seem to make the project work and eventually gave up and filed for bankruptcy.
It wasn’t until the 1980s that businessman Ronald Boeddeker bought the land and eventually completed the project only to have the crash of 2008 cause more bankruptcy for many of the companies involved.
