Playa Los Tules, Puerto Vallarta
Playa Los Tules is a beautiful stretch of golden sand that is located in the city of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is one of the smaller beaches in Jalisco and is only around 3400 ft long (1000 meters). It starts at the El Pitillal River to the north and a small creek to the south. The name “tule” is derived from a type of reed that once grew abundantly in the area.
Los Tules Beach boasts gorgeous emerald-colored waters and fine gold that are fairly compact and easy to walk on. It has rock barriers on either side which distinguishes it from the other beaches. Behind it lies the Los Tules Resort, which is a sprawling beachfront hotel.
The beach is situated around 12 minutes and 2.4 miles (4km) from central Puerto Vallarta and is one of the least busy beaches in the city.
