El Matador Beach
About El Matador Beach, Malibu, California
El Matador Beach in Malibu is a dramatic slice of California's coastline with an abundance of spectacular scenery. Malibu is full of incredible views and breathtaking beaches, but El Matador is one of the most popular and that is probably due to the unique rock formations and sea caves located within the park.
It is situated just off of the scenic Pacific Coast Highway and has a decent-sized parking lot with picnic tables to sit and watch the birds fly around in the intense Pacific winds. There is a trail that takes you down the front of the bluffs to the beach below where you can explore the one-of-a-kind natural sea stack formations.
La Piedra State Beach and Lechuza Beach are also within walking distance and are free to explore and the three together are part of a larger park called Robert H. Meyer Memorial State Beach.
