Canterbury Road Community Park provides beachgoers with access to scenic Mara Lake which is located in the Swansea Point neighborhood of Sicamous, British Columbia. The park is small and as such, it is not loaded with amenities but does have a small parking lot, a beach volleyball net, picnic tables, and most importantly a wonderful white sand beach overlooking Mara Lake. This beach is the perfect place to go for a swim, launch a kayak, or SUP paddleboard, and is one of seven lake access points on Swansea Point, so finding somewhere to relax for the day shouldn’t be a problem.
If you do end up visiting Canterbury Road Community Park and come find that it is already taken, just remember there are six other public beaches on Swansea Point alone, so take a drive around the neighborhood as well as the town and you're sure to find a spot.

The town of Sicamous perfectly situated in the Shuswap valley area of BC and is surrounded by gorgeous mountains that are beautifully draped in a lush green forest canopy. Sicamous is a popular adventure-filled beach destination and is a great place to spend a summer holiday with the whole family. It is smack dab in between Mara Lake and Shuswap Lake which are joined by the Sicamous Narrows. Sicamous and the two lakes it lies on are known as “Houseboat Capital of Canada” and there are a couple of places where you can rent a houseboat.
