Swanson Community Park is one of seven convenient Mara Lake beach access points that are located in the scenic Swansea Point neighborhood just outside of the town of Sicamous, British Columbia. The park is an excellent and secluded little beach to claim as your own for the day and features several amenities that make it a good spot for family picnics. Amenities include an outhouse, a playground, garbage, and a nice sandy beach that has great views of Sicamous and Mara Lake. It is also a great place to go floating, kayaking, or SUP paddleboarding.
If you happen to show up for a day of fun at Swanson Community Park and find that it is already taken, just remember there are six other public beaches on Swansea Point alone, so take a drive around the neighborhood and you're sure to find a spot.

The town is perfectly tucked into a valley of the Shuswap region of BC and is surrounded by scenic mountains covered in lush green rainforest. Sicamous is considered to be a summertime vacation destination as it is ideally situated between Mara Lake and Shuswap Lake which are connected by the Sicamous Narrows. Sicamous, together with its two lakes is well known for its abundance of water activities and has been dubbed with the moniker “Houseboat Capital of Canada”.
