Francis Avenue Beach, Kelowna
Francis Avenue Beach is located in the heart of the popular tourist destination known as the city of Kelowna, British Columbia, and is situated along the gorgeous Okanagan Lake. The beach lies just a few blocks south of the William R. Bennett Bridge, which is a pontoon bridge crossing Okanagan Lake and is the only way to get across the 135 km long body of water. The beach itself has nice fine sand and features great views looking towards Peachland. Foster Road beach is located in Vernon, British Columbia along gorgeous Okanagan Lake. It is a fairly small beach with several little private coves that are perfect for a family picnic or an afternoon swim to cool off after you hike the spectacular Adventure Bay Trail, which is just around the corner if you continue driving on the scenic Tronson Road. Foster Road Beach is also a great place to launch a kayak or paddleboard and cruise around the bays of Okanagan Lake or to popular Kin Beach.

Lost Lake is a little known slice of British Columbia heaven that is situated directly off highway 6 between Cherryville in the Okanagan, and Fauquier in the Kootenays region. It is technically part of Cherryville but is quite far from the village and smack dab in the middle of nowhere. The area is open to the public and features bathrooms, picnic tables, and hiking trails.

For around 80 years this little slice of paradise known as Hurlburt Park was a summer camp for kids, and it wasn’t until recently that the city of Vernon, British Columbia purchased the land and turned it into this picturesque public beach. This is especially a treat for locals who drove by this mesmerizing spot on a regular basis while making their way out to nearby Ellison Provincial Park and always daydreamed of being able to one day lay on its that perfect sand.
Rattlesnake Point, Vernon
Rattlesnake Point is the incredibly scenic tip of a rocky peninsula of Kalamalka Lake in Vernon, British Columbia, and is located in super popular Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, which is one of the top tourism destinations in the spectacular Okanagan Valley. Rattlesnake Point can be reached by any of the trailheads within the park and is generally around a 6 km hike round trip.
Shuswap Falls
Shuswap Falls in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia is the result of the man-made Wilsey Dam site and provides an excellent place for swimming, cliff jumping, kayaking, canoeing, or just a good ole family picnic. There are also several hiking trails leading to beautiful swimming spots and to places where you can observe the dam and waterfalls in all their glory. Shuswap Falls is essentially a recreation area that includes a parking lot, picnic tables, and pit toilets.
