Playa Las Animas

Playa Las Ánimas is a picturesque vacation destination that lies along the beautiful shores of the Bay of Banderas in the southern zone of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It features a lovely sandy beach with fairly gentle waves and boasts excellent amenities like beach resorts, vendors, restaurants, and places to shop for locally crafted souvenirs. Aside from the commercialization, Las Animas is actually a quaint little Mexican village with no road access that is perfectly tucked into a lush mountainside covered with vibrant green jungle vegetation.

Playa Caballo

Playa Caballo (Horse Beach) is situated south of the popular vacation destination known as Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. It is one of the most beautiful and pristine beaches in the Mexican state of Jalisco and is somewhat isolated, in a good way. The beach can only be reached via water taxi or by taking the arduous, but exciting coastal hiking trail. The trail leads hikers through the jungle and gives them the opportunity to stop at several epic attractions along the way.

Playa Colomitos could be described as a short stretch of pristine sand that lies in a picturesque rocky cove backed by a jungle ravine with a small creek that empties out into the ocean.

The name Playa La Lancha conjures up positive vibes mixed with raw adrenaline to those who are in the know. A true surfers hideaway and adventure seekers paradise that is tucked away in the jungles of Nayarit, Mexico, and is perfectly situated on the northern shores of the Bay of Banderas near the lovely village of Punta de Mita. Once you make your way to Playa La Lancha, if you don’t already have a surfboard, there is a surfboard rental shop WildMex Surf & Adventure.

Playa Las Gemelas, Puerto Vallarta

Escape the busy beaches and murky waters of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and head south of the city to find true peace and beauty at places like Playa Las Gemelas in the Conchas Chinas area. The beach is actually two beaches, which is where the name Las Gemelas (The Twins) actually comes from. They are both short stretches of near-perfect white sand lined by resorts like the Grand Park Royal Puerto Vallarta and the Condiminios Girasol Sur and are open to the public by entering a beach access point on the north beach.

Playa Sayulita, Nayarit

The beach is divided into two sections the south beach and the north beach which are divided by the Sayulita River that runs out into the Pacific Ocean. Playa Carricitos is located on the other side of the peninsula of Punta Sayulita and takes around 45-60 minutes walking, depending on where in Sayulita you’re starting from.

Poplar Beach, Kelowna

Poplar Beach is a picturesque public beach that is located just off of Poplar Point Drive in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. it lies on the shores of Okanagan Lake in the world-famous Okanagan Valley. The beach features idyllic views of the lake and its surrounding mountains and has unique smooth stones covering its shore. Poplar Beach features nothing in terms of amenities but is an excellent spot for a swim or a picnic and provides a quiet break from the busier beaches of Kelowna.

Beaver Lake, Okanagan Valley

Beaver Lake is situated on a high alpine plateau in the popular Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. It is just one of many picturesque bodies of water that make up a chain of high mountain lakes. The lake sits at an elevation of approximately 4,600 ft / 1,400 m and is around 30 minutes from the town of Winfield in Lake Country as well as the Kelowna International Airport (KLW). King Edward Lake

King Edward Lake is a gorgeous body of water that is situated in the high alpine Aberdeen Plateau in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia. The lake has an elevation of 1,358 meters and is just one of many lakes that are located on the plateau. King Edward Lake is about 30 minutes drive from the city of Vernon and is an excellent place to get away from the busier lakes at the bottom of the valley.

Silver Beach Provincial Park

Located at the far northern reaches of Shuswap Lake, British Columbia is the incredibly beautiful destination known as Silver Beach Provincial Park. The park is situated in the remote village of Seymour Arm at the original site of a historic gold rush town that was formerly named Ogden City. Silver Beach features a large public campground boasting 35 total sites, some of which are beachfront on what is perhaps the Shuswap’s most beautiful beach.

Hidden Lake, Enderby

Deep into the forested hills of Enderby, British Columbia is the picture-perfect body of water known as Hidden Lake. The lake is an idyllic Okanagan getaway that features plenty of small beaches and coves with warm swimmable water. It also boasts 3 public campgrounds with a total of 46 campsites, as well as day-use spots for those coming for the day. Campsites go for a cheap $15 per night and cannot be reserved as they are secured on a first come first serve basis.

Beachcomber Bay Beach, Vernon, BC

Beachcomber Bay Beach is a brand new beach access point that is situated on the outskirts of the city of Vernon, British Columbia. The park sits on the shores of Okanagan Lake just off of scenic Tronson Road heading towards Adventure Bay. It offers beachgoers a gorgeous spot to relax and enjoy the beautiful lake and mountain scenery and the peaceful lapping of the waves. The park features a small beach with a combination of sand and rock, as well as a nice park bench. There are currently no washrooms or outhouses at Beachcomber Bay Beach.

Belvidere Park, Enderby

Belvidere Park features sandy beach areas with great swimming and offers some of the best views of the hiking trail known as the Enderby Cliffs. The park is also home to a Visitor Centre and the local Chamber of Commerce, as well as public washrooms, picnic tables, and a canoe launch. The park is also a convenient spot to access the Riverwalk trail or launch a tube, paddleboard or kayak and enjoy a day floating down the Shuswap River.
