The Wall and Base Lift Loop is a 4.8-kilometer hiking trail and is just one of many trails that lies in the world-famous Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park. The Okanagan High Rim Trail is an idyllic hiking trail that stretches for around 57 km between the cities of Vernon and Kelowna, British Columbia. The entirety of this hike takes several days round trip depending on fitness levels and distance goals. The trail provides epic views of Kalamalka Lake, Wood Lake, Ellison Lake, as well as providing stunning panoramic scenes of the Okanagan Valley and its surrounding mountains. Hikers can seemingly continue on forever as the trail eventually connects to the lengthy 650 km Kettle Valley Rail Trail.
To enjoy one of the most spectacular views in Vernon, British Columbia, one must take the time to hike the trail known as the Foothills Butte. This trail leads you up the mountain for about 15 minutes taking you through gorgeous Okanagan grasslands to open fields with panoramic scenery. From the top, you will see most of the city of Vernon along with three beautiful lakes, Kalamalka Lake, Okanagan Lake, and Swan Lake. After taking in the incredible views, you will have the option to head back down or continue on one of several other trails that meander through forests on mountainsides.
The Silver Star, Milky Way Trail is a popular ski run and hiking trail located in the Okanagan highlands of British Columbia, Canada. The trail takes hikers up the mountain and meanders through beautiful grasslands teeming with wildflowers. The trail is moderately difficult and takes around an hour from the village to the top. During the hike, you will be treated to excellent views of the seemingly endless alpine mountain ranges that are abundant in the region.
The spectacular Silver Star, Ridgewalk Trail is located in a beautiful alpine area of the Okanagan highlands in British Columbia, Canada. The hike is short at 1.4 km and takes around 45-60 min depending on fitness levels. The trail is quite arduous and heads straight up the mountain via many switchbacks. During the hike, you will meander through a combination of grasslands and patches of forest that open up to incredible views of mountains as far as the eye can see. Depending on what time of year you visit Silver Star, you may be lucky enough to witness the wonderful wildflowers season that is typical of BC’s alpine regions.

Black Mountain Regional Park is a 640-hectare hiking area in the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. It features several excellent hiking trails that wind through picturesque grasslands that are typical in the Okanagan Valley. At certain locations in the park, you will be treated to unimpeded views of Okanagan Lake as well as some unique rock formations called hoodoos.
An incredible slice of Canadian heaven awaits you at the 50 km long Okanagan Rail Trail in British Columbia. The trail includes 24 km of breathtaking waterfront that features dramatic cliffs, beautiful natural wildlife habitats like Carney Pond, trickling creeks, and two seasonal waterfalls.
The Lebanon Creek Greenway is a popular regional park that is situated on the outskirts of the city of Kelowna, British Columbia. It is located along scenic Lakeshore Road in an idyllic setting amongst orchards, wineries, and vineyards. It is a beautiful slice of the Okanagan Valley and provides an important corridor for local wildlife to move from the mountains down to the lake.
Stephens Coyote Ridge features several hiking trails that lead visitors through idyllic grasslands to a small lake called Lightblue Lake, where you can swim and use the rope swing. There are also several ponds within the park that are perfect for viewing wildlife, which includes coyotes of course. The park also boasts excellent panoramic views of Okanagan Lake, the city of Kelowna, and Okanagan Mountain.
Scenic Canyon Regional Park is an incredibly gorgeous and underrated hiking area that is located on the outskirts of Kelowna, British Columbia. The park lives up to its name and offers visitors the opportunity to explore this “scenic canyon”, and its amazing geologic formations. The canyon is a must-see attraction for anybody visiting the Okanagan Valley and will take your breath away at every corner.
The Ellison Connector hiking trail connects two of Vernon, British Columbia's most popular attractions, Predator Ridge and Ellison Provincial Park. The trail meanders through pine forests that occasionally open up for views of a world-class PGA golf course, as well as spectacular Okanagan Lake. The hike is around 9.4 km round trip with a moderate difficulty level and is just one of many hiking trails that are scattered around the village of Predator Ridge.
The Albercutx Watchtower sits high above the sea and at 380 meters it provides a spectacular panoramic viewpoint for hikers. The views from the top include Cap de Formentor, the island of Colomer, the Bay of Pollença, Platja de Formentor, and the Sierra de Tramuntana, which is Mallorca’s alpine mountain range. Albercutx Watchtower is a must-see for the views alone but does offer some interesting historical value as well.
Cala Boquer is situated in the magnificent Boquer Valley on the Mediterranean island of Mallorca, Spain. The valley is incredibly scenic and features dramatic mountain ranges that are littered with hiking trails. The area lies just north-east of Port de Pollença and most people who hike here have the overall goal of reaching the stunning cove of Cala Boquer.
